Introduction
The 420-9053 C175 Cylinder Block Lifting Device is used to move and position the C175 Cylinder Block during rebuild operations. The 420-9053 C175 Cylinder Block Lifting Device is a one piece tool that fits in the block "V" and is positioned under two inlet manifold ports. The 420-9053 C175 Cylinder Block Lifting Device reduces rigging time by eliminating the need to install the cylinder block lifting brackets and associated cables.The C175 Lifting Block Device improves the quality of repair by eliminating any potential block deck damage caused from cable ends.Specifications

Locate the fixture on the top deck of the C175 Cylinder Block.

Move the lifting device horizontally until the vertical bar is located at the center of the block.

Move the locking device handle to the right.
Move the fixed end of the fixture horizontally until the lifting tang on the fixed end of the fixture is located under the web, between the lifter window openings.
Unlock the locking device by moving the handle to the left.
Move the telescoping end of the fixture toward the vertical bar until it is located under the lifter window opening.Note: Make sure that the telescoping end and the fixed end of the lifting device are positioned tightly against the web of the lifter window.
Move the locking device handle to the right to lock into place.
Proceed to lift the block.Note: Refer to the appropriate Disassembly and Assembly manual for moving and positioning the C175 Cylinder Block.Maintenance Section
Inspection
Inspect Equipment - Inspect tool prior to each use for nicks, burrs, dents, cracks, bent, or worn parts. If damage is found, discontinue use, destroy the tool, and depose of as scrap.
Working Load Limit (WLL) mark - Do not use lifting device unless load identification (WLL) markings are legible.
Safety Alert - Do not use lifting device if mounting hole or lifting holes are elongated or deformed. Cleaning
Clean the tool using nonsolvent based cleaners.Storage
Store tool indoors in a dry location to prevent rust and corrosion.Disposal
At the end of the operational life of the tool, destroy the tool and dispose of as scrap.
