(1) 2G-1034 Air Relief Valve (1A) Exhaust portThe orientation of the air relief valve may affect the performance of the valve. The air relief valve should be installed so that the exhaust port points downward. The downward orientation prevents contamination of the valve. A downward orientation also allows moisture to exit the valve. The proper orientation of the air relief valve will improve the functionality of the valve. The air relief valve on some machines may be oriented upward. When the 2G-1034 Air Relief Valve is replaced, be sure to position the valve so that the exhaust port points downward.The air relief valve should not need to be adjusted on the following machines:

See Illustration 2.Note: On the G Series and Tier I H Series Motor Graders, there are two relief valves. The two valves are located on each end of the air tank.
