Information:
(21)Transmission And Torque Converter
1. Remove transmission drain plug and allow oil to drain. 2. Remove cover housing spring and screen. 3. Separate cover, housing spring and screen. Wash screen in clean solvent. 4. Inspect cover gasket. Install new cover gasket if necessary. 5. Install screen, spring and housing to cover. Be sure pin in housing is aligned with hole in cover.6. Install suction screen assembly.7. Install transmission and torque converter drain plug. 8. Remove breather and install new breather. 9. Remove fill plug. Fill compartment. See REFILL CAPACITIES.10. Check oil level, add oil if required.(22)Bevel Gear Compartment
1. Remove bevel gear compartment drain plug. Remove steering clutch compartment drain plugs. This will drain any seepage from final drive and bevel gear case seals. Clean and install drain plugs. 2. Remove breather and install new breather. 3. Remove fill plug. Fill compartment. See REFILL CAPACITIES.4. Check oil level, add oil if required.(23)Fuel Tank
Open drain valve and drain off any sediment or water that may have accumulated. Close valve.(28)Final Drives
1. Remove drain plugs and drain compartments.2. Clean and install drain plugs. 3. Remove fill plugs and add oil to level oil filler plug openings. See REFILL CAPACITIES.4. Clean and install fill plugs.(25)Steering Clutches
To Adjust:
Check free travel. Free travel at each steering clutch lever should be 3 inches (76 mm). 1. Remove seat cushion.2. Remove adjusting nut covers at top of each clutch compartment. 2. Loosen adjusting nut locknut.3. Turn adjusting nut to obtain correct lever free travel. 4. Tighten locknut and install cover. 5. Remove control lever stop access cover. 6. Adjust stop bolts for at least 15/16 inch (23 mm) clearance.7. Install cover and seat cushion.
