Assembly Procedure
Note: Clean all components thoroughly. Apply clean oil to the components before assembly.Note: O-rings, gaskets, and seals should always be replaced. A used O-ring may not have the same sealing properties as a new O-ring. A reconditioning procedure should not be degraded because of a low cost component such as an O-ring or a gasket. Use 1U-6396 O-Ring Assembly Compound during the assembly procedure.

Install orifice sleeve (14) and install retaining ring (13) on valve stem (12). Valve stem (12) is a nonserviceable part.
Apply 138-8436 Liquid Gasket to the threads of plug (15). Install plug (15) on valve stem (12) .

Install valve stem (12) in the valve body. Position Slot (A) on valve stem (12) for alignment with piston (11) .
Install piston (11), pin (10), and plug (9). The end of piston (11) and Slot (A) need to be in proper alignment in order to tighten plug (9) .

Install cover (8) and bolts (7) on the quick-drop valve.
Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.

Install the nonserviceable piston (not shown) in the valve housing. Install spring (6) in the valve housing.

Install O-ring seal (3), stop (4), and shims (5) in cover (2) .

Install cover (2) and bolts (1) .End By: Install the quick-drop valve on the machine. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Quick-Drop Valve - Install".
