1     1U-5756     Hose Assembly    Complete the following steps in order to determine if the charge solenoid valve is operating properly.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

(1) All wheel drive control valve (2) Charge solenoid valve (3) Forward pressure port
Install a 1U-5756 Hose Assembly and a 8T-0857 Pressure Gauge to forward pressure port (3) . Position the gauge in the cab for viewing during machine operation.

(4) All wheel drive control
With all wheel drive control (4) in the OFF position, start the machine. Run the engine in low idle.
The pressure gauge should read approximately 0 kPa (0 psi). If any pressure is indicated, check for a faulty solenoid or a worn valve.
Move all wheel drive control (4) from the OFF position to the ON position (MANUAL or AUTOMATIC ). The pressure should be 2000 70 kPa (290 10 psi). If the pressure is not correct, inspect charge solenoid valve (2) . The valve may be sticking or the valve may be worn.
Shut off the engine. Remove the hose assembly and the pressure gauge from the machine.
