Information:
(3) Remove transmission sync. light (5), scraper kill button (6) and plate (7). Drill a .50" Ø (.13) hole (G) and a .12" Ø (3) hole (H) in the dash as shown. (4) Install 4D6983 Plate (8) and 8D2676 Run-Neutral Switch (9) as shown. Again, install transmission sync. light (5) and scraper kill button (6) at locations (J) and (K), respectively. (5) Install 2G8852 Wiring Harness (10). Connect black wire (11) to the low air warning horn, dark blue/white wire (12) to transmission sync. light (5), black wire (13) to terminal two on run-neutral switch (9) and to transmission sync light (5). Connect dark green/white wire (14) to terminal three on run-neutral switch (9) as shown. Connect red/white wire (15) to existing red/white (16). (6) Install 2G8853 Wiring Harness (17) and connect harness (17) to 2G8852 Wiring Harness (10) which was installed earlier. Connect harness (17) to existing harness (18) at the rear of the engine. Install 6" (150) of 5P6627 Wire on each cannon plug to prevent the retaining nut from becoming loose.Installation Of Transmission Switch
The following installation procedure given for the transmission switch is the same for both tractor and scraper transmission. CAUTION: Make sure the transmission is in the neutral position before removal of the 1P9615 Gear. If conversion to the transmission for the two seal type transmission switches has not been made, it is necessary to order an 8P7613 Plate. See Special Instruction Form SMHS6944 [CONVERSION OF TWO SEAL TYPE TRANSMISSION SWITCHES]. (1) Remove the transmission control linkage, light and cover (1). Remove the transmission hydraulic control valves as necessary to remove the transmission switch gear (see the Service Manual). (2) Remove switch cover (2) and disconnect the wires. Remove switch (3) and plate (4). Remove ring (5) and washer (6). (3) Remove existing gear (7). If conversion to the transmission has not been made, drill a .344" Ø (8.7 Ø) hole (A) through the transmission case at the location shown. Put threads in hole (A) with a 1/8"-27 NPSF tap. If, at any time, the transmission is to be used on a single engine unit, the drain hole can be closed with a 5M6214 Pipe Plug. Inspect seal (8) for damage. If a new seal is necessary, install a 9H223 Seal. Put liquid gasket in the seal bore and let it become dry before the new seal is installed. Put lubricant on the seal lip; use the same lubricant being sealed. (4) Install 8P8793 Gear (9) and make alignment of the gear mark with cam (10) in the neutral position. Install washer (11) and 2J6356 Ring (12) as shown. (5) Inspect seal (13) for damage. If a new seal is necessary, install an 8S5575 Seal. Put liquid gasket in the seal bore and let it become dry before the new seal is installed. Put lubricant on the seal lip; use the same lubricant being sealed.
