Assembly Procedure
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, thoroughly clean all parts in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Do not use wiping cloths of rags to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. Dirt and other contaminants can damage the precision component. Perform assembly procedures on a clean work surface. Keep components covered and protected at all times.Note: Lubricate the internal components with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Install the O-ring seal to plug assembly (25). Install ball (27), spring (26) and plug assembly (25).

Install the O-ring seal to stop assembly (24). Install stop assembly (24).

Install O-ring seal (23) to cover (22). Install cover (22).

Install the O-ring seal to seat (21). Install the ball in seat (21). Install seat (21) to the valve body.

Install the O-ring seal to seat (20). Install seat (20) to the valve body.

Install the O-ring seal on plug (19). Install plug (19).

Assemble the valve spool assembly. Install shims (17) to valve spool (16). Install retainer (18), spacer (12), spring (13), retainer (14), bolt (15) and the washers.

Install valve spool assembly (11).
Install valve (7), spacer (8), spring (9) and spring (10).

Install the O-ring seals to seat (6) and cover (5). Install seat (6) to cover (5).

Install cover (5).
Install the O-ring seal and shims (3) to plug (4).
Install valve (1), spring (2) and plug (4). Torque plug (4) to 50 7 N m (37 5 lb ft) End By:
Install the steering control valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Control Valve - Install".
