Introduction
This document will provide the correct procedure for applying the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags to different types of surfaces. This will correspond with the different types of equipment that will receive the tags.Installation on Nonmetallic Material
Note: Temperature must be above 10 °C (50 °F). The temperature must stay above 10 °C (50 °F) for at least one hour in order to allow proper adhesion to the surface.Note: General guidelines for location of RFID tags
Place the tag in a location that provides protection.
Place the tag so that normal operation is not affected.
Avoid pivot points and uneven surfaces. The time may come when it will be necessary to remove a tag. Reinstall the tag with 3M 4951 VHB tape. Contact your local Cat Rental Store in order to obtain this tape.
