(1360 kg).8. Remove O-ring seal and shims. Keep shims with axle housings for correct installation.Install Tandem Drive Housings, Axles And Axle Housings
1. Fasten hoist to housing for tandem drive and wheels. Use a hydraulic jack to put the housing in alignment. 2. Install shims (1) and O-ring seal on axle housing. If hub or support bearings are replaced, make the final drive and support bearing adjustment as shown in Step 3.3. Make the support bearing adjustment in the following way: a) Put the axle housing on the housing for the final drive without shims.b) Install the nuts that hold housings together. Turn the gear to make the bearings seat.c) Check the end clearance of the final drive gear with indicator group (A).d) Find the amount of shims needed between axle housings and housings for final drive with a thickness gauge.e) Install shims to get .003 to .011 in. (0.08 to 0.38 mm) end clearance. Install a minimum of two shims on each side. 4. Install the cap (2), bolts and lock. Tighten the other side.5. Install cover for final drive. Fill the final drive with lubricant.6. Lift machine and remove tooling (B).7. Connect oil line for hydraulic brakes. Remove air from brake system. See REMOVING AIR FROM BRAKES (BLEEDING BRAKES) in TESTING AND ADJUSTING.
