Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Raise the hood.
Turn the disconnect switch to the off position.

Remove cover (1).

Disconnect heated hose assembly (2) and the O-ring seal. Disconnect clips (3).

Disconnect harness assembly (4).

Disconnect hoses (5).

Remove panel (6).

Disconnect harness assemblies (7).

Remove drain plug (10) in order to drain diesel exhaust fluid module tank (9) into a suitable container. Diesel exhaust fluid module tank (9) holds approximately 19.2 L (5.06 US gal) of fluid.
Remove bolts (8).

Disconnect hose (12) from diesel exhaust fluid module (13). Remove diesel exhaust fluid module (13). Installation Procedure
Install diesel exhaust fluid module (13) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten drain plug (10) to torque of 11 3 N m (97 275 lb in).
Apply Tooling (A) to the O-ring seal for heated hose assembly (2).
