1. Remove four bolts (1).2. Disconnect tube (2). Cap and plug all openings immediately.3. Disconnect tube (3). Cap and plug all openings immediately.4. Remove two bolts (4).5. Disconnect tube (5). Cap and plug all openings immediately.6. Remove two bolts (6).7. Disconnect tube (7). Cap and plug all openings immediately. 8. Attach lifting slings and a suitable lifting device to the turbocharger as shown.9. Remove four nuts (8). 10. Disconnect tube (9). Cap and plug all openings immediately. 11. Remove bolt and clip (11).12. Remove tube (12) and the gasket. Cap and plug all openings immediately.13. Remove turbocharger (10). The weight of the turbocharger is 47 kg (104 lb). 14. Remove gaskets (13) and (14). The following steps are for the installation of the turbocharger. 15. Install gasket (13) and gasket (14). 16. Attach lifting slings and a suitable lifting device to the turbocharger as shown. Install turbocharger (10) in its original location. The weight of the turbocharger is 47 kg (104 lb).17. Place tube (12) in position and install bolt and clip (11). 18. Connect tube (9) to the cylinder block.19. Install four nuts (8). Do not tighten nuts (8) at this time. 20. Install four bolts (1) connecting the elbow to the aftercooler.21. Loosen the V-band clamps attaching the compressor housing and turbine housing to the cartridge enough to allow housings to rotate.22. Position the housings with the air pipes, exhaust pipes, the oil and the water lines so they are all aligned without binding.23. Connect tube (2), (3), (5) and (7).24. Install two bolts (4) and (6) connecting the tubes to the turbocharger.25. Tighten the V-band clamps to 14 1 N m (10 1 lb ft).26. Tap the V-band clamps all the way around and retighten to 14 1 N m (10 1 lb ft). Do not overtighten the clamps.27. Tighten the four nuts (8) fastening the turbocharger to the rear exhaust manifold to a torque of 55 5 N m (41 4 lb ft).End By:a: install air cleanerDisassemble & Assemble Turbocharger
Start By:a. remove turbocharger 1. Loosen clamp (4) and remove hose (5).2. Loosen clamp (2). Upon assembly tighten clamp (2) to a torque of 14 1 N m (10 1 lb ft).3. Remove compressor (3) from the cartridge assembly and turbine (1). 4. Remove pipe (6) and the two O-ring seals from compressor (3).5. Remove adapter (7) and the two O-ring seals from pipe (6). 6. Loosen clamp (9). Upon assembly, tighten clamp (9) to a torque of 14 1 N m (10 1 lb ft).7. Remove cartridge assembly (8) from turbine (1). 8. Remove four bolts and clips (11).9. Remove exhaust elbow (10). 10. Remove three adapters (12).11. Remove gasket (13).12. Remove adapter (14). 13. Remove two plugs (15) from exhaust elbow (10). Check all O-ring seals for wear or damage and replace with new parts if necessary. For assembly of the turbocharger, reverse the disassembly steps.End By:a. install turbocharger
