To avoid machine damage, you should shift the propel transmission when: the machine is stopped, the propel lever is at the STOP position and and the engine is at idle.
You can use two ranges of speed with the shift lever. The TORTOISE position is the slowest speed range. Gear 1 and gear 2 are available in the TORTOISE position. The RABBIT position is the fastest speed range. Gear 3 and gear 4 are available in the RABBIT position.Note: The propel lever may need to be moved forward or the propel lever may need to be moved backward to get to a different gear range. The load must be off of the transmission. If the load is off of the transmission the gears will engage. .
