Directional and Steering Controls
Normal steering is when the final drive sprockets are under the rear of the machine. Idlers are under the front of the cab. Reverse steering is when the cab is over the sprockets. Both the directional and steering functions will be reversed. Always travel with sprockets under the rear of the machine. The farther the levers are pushed forward or pulled backward, the faster the travel speed. The farther the pedal is pushed at the toe or heel side, the faster the travel speed. The travel alarm is located behind the engine. This alarm will sound when the travel lever or pedal is activated. 1. Reverse Direction Travel Levers- Pull back on both levers at the same time and distance for reverse travel. Reverse Direction Travel Pedals - Push both pedals at the heel, at the same time. The machine will always travel toward the sprockets. 2. Brakes On- Release both of the directional travel control levers or pedals to apply the brakes. 3. Forward Direction Travel Levers- Push forward on both levers at the same time and distance for forward travel. Forward Direction Travel Pedals - Push both pedals on the toe, at the same time. The machine will always travel toward the idlers. The farther the levers or pedals are moved forward or backward, the faster the turning speed. Use the pedals as well as the levers to make turns. 4. Spot Left Turn- Pull backward on the left lever and push forward on the right lever at the same time. This allows a quick left turn (counter track rotation). Pivot Left Turn - Push forward on the right lever, allowing the machine to turn to the left pivoting on the left track. 5. Spot Right Turn- Pull backward on the right lever and push forward on the left lever at the same time, allowing a quick right turn (counter track rotation). Pivot Right Turn - Push forward on the left lever, allowing the machine to turn to the right, pivoting on the right track.Governor Control Lever
Governor Control Lever - Controls the engine speed (rpm). 1. Increase- Move lever back to increase the engine speed. 2. Decrease- Move lever forward to decrease the engine speed. 3. Engine Shutoff- Move lever fully forward, past low idle detent, to stop the engine.Automatic Engine Speed Control (AEC) (If equipped)
The automatic engine speed control functions to automatically reduce engine speed when no hydraulic demand is called for. The system overrides the governor control lever setting sometime (between 0.5 second and 10 seconds) after all hydraulic control levers and pedals have been returned to the HOLD position. The purpose of the AEC system is to reduce fuel consumption and noise. Engine speed will instantly increase after activation of any hydraulic function. Automatic Engine Speed Control Switch
Automatic Engine Speed Control Timer Dial
The AEC system is equipped with an AEC switch, located on the instrument and switch console, and an AEC timer dial, located on the relay box behind the operator's
