Recalibrate the lever position of the steering gear.
The detent of the steering lever is adjusted at the factory. This detent occurs just prior to brake engagement while the lever is being pulled. The detent position may require adjustment if the gearbox is replaced.
In order to change the location of the detent, remove the pipe plug on the front of the gearbox. Use an allen wrench to rotate the screw that is located behind the pipe plug.
A PWM sensor is used for steering. The sensor data can be displayed in a percentage of the duty cycle on the main display module of the dash. In order to adjust the location of the detent, the duty cycle value of the sensor must be 25.8 1.0 percent greater than the value when the lever is fully released. If the lever is released and the value is 12 percent, the detent should be between 36.8 percent and 38.8 percent.
Use a 4C-8195 Service Tool in order to obtain the above data. Press the mode switch. Hold the mode switch until "COMPONENT DATA DISPLAY MODE" appears. (The number could be "7" or "8", but this number is dependent on the type of tractor.) Then, scroll to "CID 676" (left track steering lever position sensor) and to "CID 677" (right track steering lever position sensor).
