1. Put the forks of a lift truck in position under the tire. Use chain (2) to fasten the tire to the lift truck as shown.2. Support the weight of the tire, and remove bearing cone (1). The parking and emergency brake must be released before the wheel can be removed.3. Loosen lockbolt (3). Turn worm gear (4) until the parking and emergency brake is released.4. Use the lift truck, and remove the tire and wheel from the axle housing. The weight of the tire and wheel is approximately 1450 kg (3197 lb.).5. Remove the Duo-Cone seal from the inside of the wheel.6. If necessary, remove the bearing cups from the inside of the wheel. 7. Remove bearing cone (6) from the axle housing.8. Remove Duo-Cone seal (7) from retainer (5). Remove the retainer from the axle housing. 9. Remove O-ring seal (8) from retainer (5).Install Wheels, Bearings And Duo-Cone Seals
1. Put O-ring seal (1) in position in retainer (2). Put clean oil on the O-ring seal. 2. Put retainer (2) in position on the axle housing. See Installation Of Duo-Cone Floating Seals before any of the Duo-Cone seals are installed.3. Use tool (A), and install Duo-cone seal (4) in retainer (2).4. Install bearing cone (3) on the axle housing.5. If the bearing cups were removed from the wheel, lower the temperature of the bearing cups. Install them in the wheel.6. Use tool (A), and install the Duo-Cone seal in the wheel. 7. Use chain (5), and fasten the tire and wheel to a lift truck.8. Use the lift truck, and put the tire and wheel in position on the axle housing.9. Install bearing cone (6).10. After the final drive gear and hub have been installed, adjust the parking and emergency brake.
