If administered beforefailure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" asthe SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as theWarranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code. The pin and fork assemblies of the 1395776 TransmissionControl Gp, which are used in certain D250E Series II, D300E Series II,D350E Series II, and D400E Series II Articulated Trucks, can wear causingpoor shifting or a failure to select gears. A repair kit has been releasedas 1961849 and a special instruction, REHS0988-00, written. Repairs shouldbe made to the shifter rather than replacing it.AFFECTED PRODUCT

Remove 1395776 Transmission Control Gp from themachine, following the repair procedure in Special Instruction REHS0988,"Servicing a Worn Pin and/or a Worn Fork on a Transmission Control".
NOTE: Safety glasses should be wornduring repair process
Carefully remove 1450875 Handle Assembly fromthe shifter.
Carefully open the handle and remove the 1431978Actuator and the 1882736 Spring from the handle.
Care must be taken as thespring may become loose during the disassembly.
Install the new 1431978 Actuator and the 1882736Spring.
Carefully reassemble the handle, making sure thatall internal wiring is routed in their channels.
NOTE Wires not routed in their channelscan be cut or shorted in reassembly causing the handle to fail.
Reinstall the 1450875 Handle to the Shifter.
Reinstall the repaired 1395776 Transmission ControlGp.
