When submitting claim for Parts Stock Action, Use the appropriate 99Z as the s/n, the appropriate Service Letter Program Number as the Part number in the Part Causing Failure field, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Description Code.
The information supplied in this service letter may not be valid after the termination date of this program.Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your Caterpillar product analyst.

PROBLEM
Certain 20R-5604 (CRB) and 20R-7295 Air Compressors need to be removed from dealer pars stock. These compressors can cause excessive oil passing due to piston ring wear and/or cylinder scuffing. The 20R-7295 Air Compressors have been updated with new pistons and rings beginning with production on June 8, 2017.
ACTION REQUIRED
Inspect all 20R-5604 (CRB) and 20R-7295 Air Compressors in parts stock inventory. If any exist with a serial number prior to serial number YP-114000, remove the compressor from parts stock inventory. Reference Image 1 for an example of compressor serial tag. Reference Image 2 for an example picture of package label. Affected compressors would have a packaging date code prior to June 12, 2017 (D12M06Y17).
