Make sure that the safety link is fastened to the front and rear main frames.
1. Put blocks in front and behind the wheels for safety. 2. Remove the bolts that hold each end of intermediate drive shaft (1) and remove the drive shaft from the center of the machine. 3. Remove retainer (4) and the O-ring seal. Remove yoke (2) from the end of the front drive shaft.4. Disconnect lubrication tube (3) from the bearing retainer. 5. Disconnect front drive shaft (5) from the front differential. 6. Remove the six bolts (6) and nuts that hold the bearing retainer and cage (7) in the front frame. Install two 3/8"-16 NC forcing screws and pull cage (7) toward the center of the machine to loosen it from the frame.7. Remove the front drive shaft from the support bearing and front frame.8. Remove the retainers, cage (7) and the support bearing from the center of the machine as a unit.Install Front Drive Shaft And Support Bearing
1. Put support bearing assembly (1) in position in the front frame of the machine. 2. Install front drive shaft (2) in the front frame and support bearing assembly (1).3. Install the six bolts and nuts that hold the support bearing assembly in position.4. Connect front drive shaft (2) to the front differential and tighten the bolts to a torque of 48 8 lb.ft. (64 11 N m). 5. Connect lubrication tube (4) to the support bearing retainer.
Make sure the yoke on the parking brake flange, yoke (3) and the yoke on the front differential are in alignment before the drive shaft bolts are tightened.
6. Put yoke (3) on the end of the front drive shaft and install the O-ring seal, retainer, bolts and lock to hold it. 7. Put intermediate drive shaft (5) in position and install the bolts to hold it. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 48 8 lb.ft. (64 11 N m).8. Put clean grease in the support bearing and universal joints of the drive shafts.Disassemble Front Drive Shaft Support Bearing
start by:a) remove front drive shaft and support bearing 1. Remove bolts (1) and retainer (2) from cage (3). 2. Remove O-ring seal (5) and seal (4) from retainer (2). 3. Remove bearing cup (6) and bearing (7) from cage (3). 4. Remove spacer (8) and bearing cup (9) from cage (3). 5. Remove seal (10) from the inside of cage (3).Assemble Front Drive Shaft Support Bearing
1. Use tool group (A) to install the seal in cage (1) with the lip of the seal toward the outside as shown. 2. Install bearing cup (3) and spacer (2) in cage (1). 3. Put clean grease in bearing (5) and install bearing (5) and bearing cup (4) in cage (1). 4. Use tool group (A) to install the seal in retainer (6) with the lip of the seal toward the outside as shown. 5. Install the O-ring seal on retainer (6).6. Put retainer (6) in position on the
