Start By:a. remove belts (both sides) 1. Use a vehicle with forks to support idler wheel (3). Remove two bolts (2), and remove the idler wheel from both spindle assemblies (1). The weight of the idler wheel is 170 kg (375 lb). 2. Position floor jack (6) under belt tensioner cylinder (5). Remove bolt (4), the washer, and the spacer. Remove pin (7), and lower the belt tensioner cylinder.3. Repeat Step 2 for the other belt tensioner cylinder. 4. Position the floor jack and wooden blocks under front axle (11) as shown.5. Remove bolt (10) and the two washers. Remove two bolts (9) and retainer plate (8). 6. Use tooling (A), and remove pin (12). Lower the front axle with the floor jack, and remove it from under the tractor. The weight of the front axle is 295 kg (650 lb).
Typical Example7. Remove seals (13) and (15) from front axle (11).8. Remove snap rings (14), and remove bearing (16) from the front axle.9. If necessary, remove the two bolts securing the snubber pads located on each side of front axle (11), and remove the pads. The following steps are for installation of the front axle.10. If the snubber pads were removed, apply 9S3263 Thread Lock on the threads of the bolts that secure the pads in position on the front axle. Position the pads on the front axle, and install the bolts. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 20 4 N m (15 3 lb ft).11. Pack bearing (16) with 5P0960 Multipurpose Grease, and install it in front axle (11).12. Install snap rings (14) that hold bearing (16) in place.13. Install seals (13) and (15) in the front axle as shown. Put a small amount of 5P0960 Multipurpose Grease on the seal lips, and fill the cavity between the seals with 5P0960 Multipurpose Grease.14. Put front axle (11) in position in the front axle saddle with a floor jack.15. Align the bores in the front axle saddle with the bore in the front axle. Install pin (12) through the front axle and the front axle saddle. Be sure the flats on the end of the pin are positioned so that retainer plate (8) can be installed properly.16. Put retainer plate (8) in position, and install two bolts (9). Install the two washers and bolt (10).17. Use a floor jack to put belt tensioner cylinder (5) in position, and install pin (7). Install spacer, washer, and bolt (4).18. Use a vehicle with forks to position idler wheels (3) on both spindle assemblies (1).
