HOSE AVAILABLE TO REPLACE CRACKED HYDRAULIC TUBE 973 Loaders With Attachment Third Hydraulic Valve, 5057, 6100, 6300, PI7025 U-26 O-20 optional parts stock action needed Problem Several 973 Loaders are equipped with attachment hydraulic arrangement for a third hydraulic valve. When this feature is used, there is a possibility that the tube (8G64) supplying oil from the pump hose to the control valves will crack. The crack usually occurs at the end connected to the valve. The oil loss is sufficient to stop the machine. The tube and its connecting hose have been replaced by a single hose and improved mounting provisions. See Illustration. The same parts can be installed in the field. These parts and several other hydraulic system parts are announced in the July 16, 1984 Service Magazine. However, only the parts in this Service Letter are included in this Program. Affected Machines And Parts Needed Serial numbers of each loader equipped with this attachment are not available. Any 973 Loader, 26Z1-up, 32Z1-up, 66G1-66G641, and 86G1-86G187 is included if one of the following hydraulic arrangements is used: 8G2028, 8G2029, 8G2030, 8G2031, 8G2032, 8G2033 New parts are: 1 - 3W1576 Hose Assembly 1 - 5P7471 Clip 1 - 2V9923 Spacer 1 - 5P8182 Grommet 4 - 5P8245 Washer 1 - L2070 Bolt 4 - S1587 Bolt 1 - 8G1451 Plate Assembly 1 - 4J524 Seal 2 - S509 Bolt 2 - 1P4579 Flange 2 - 5M2894 Washer 1 - 5P7470 Clip Action Requested You may install the new hose and all the listed parts in place of the former tube and former hose. See Illustration. (SEE ILLUSTRATION) The new hose is clipped to a new spacer and plate to be bolted to the machine frame. Use the two existing holes and the grommet inside the clips. Reuse the other two-piece clips as shown in the side view. Also, remove all 8G64 Tube Assemblies and 8G63 Hose Assemblies from parts stocks. Warranty Allowances (SEE ILLUSTRATION) Submit one separate claim for any former tubes or former hoses in stocks. Parts Disposition Dispose of all the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts disposition. Termination Date March 31, 1986.
