Draw a 20 m (65 ft) straight line on travel test ground as a reference line.
Start the engine.
Move the engine speed dial to position "10". This is high idle speed for the machine (2200 80 RPM).
Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55 5°C (130 10°F).
Raise the felling head.
Position the machine so that one track is parallel with the reference line. Position the machine for the travel test.
Place the travel speed control switch in the HIGH position.
Move the machine by operating both travel pedals at the same time.
Measure the travel time that is required to travel the 20 m (65 ft). Measure the time that is required in each direction.
Measure the travel deviation from the reference line.
Place the travel speed control switch on the LOW position and repeat Steps 8 through 9.

Reverse Travel Test on Level Ground (Optional Test)
Note: When the procedure for Travel Test On Level Ground cannot be performed, this test may be used as a substitute.
Start the engine.
Position the machine on level ground.
Put a mark on a shoe of each track.
Raise a track off the ground.
Move the engine speed dial to position "10".
Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55 5°C (130 10°F).
Place the travel speed control switch in HIGH position.
Press the travel pedal for the raised track to the full travel position.
Measure the time that is required for the raised track to make three complete revolutions. Measure the time that is required in each direction.
Place the travel speed control switch in the LOW position and repeat Steps 8 through 9.
