Remove the engine oil pan. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Pan - Remove".
Remove the turbocharger. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Turbocharger - Remove".
Remove the crankshaft front seal and the wear sleeve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankshaft Front Seal and Wear Sleeve - Remove".
Remove the water pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Water Pump - Remove".
Remove the engine oil pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Pump - Remove".
Remove the auxiliary water pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Auxiliary Water Pump - Remove".
Remove the exhaust elbow. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Exhaust Elbow - Remove and Install".

Remove elbow (1) and the gasket.
Remove elbow (3) from front cover (2).

Remove cover (4) and the gasket from front housing (2).
Remove covers (5) and the O-ring seals from front housing (2).

Remove clips (6) from front housing (2).

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to front housing (2).
Remove bolts (7) from idler shafts (8). Note: Do not remove bolts (10) from idler shafts (8). Idler gears (9) do not need to be removed.

Remove bolts (11) from front housing (2).
Remove bolts (12) from front housing (2).
Remove front housing (2) and the gasket from the engine. The weight of front housing (2) is approximately 255 kg (560 lb). Installation Procedure

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to front housing (2).
Position front housing (2) and the gasket onto the engine. The weight of front housing (2) is approximately 255 kg (560 lb). Note: The idler gears will need to be aligned.
Install bolts (12) into front housing (2).
Install bolts (11) into front housing (2).

Install bolts (7) into idler shafts (8). Note: Bolts (10) and idler shafts (8) were not removed. Idler gears (9) were not removed.
Remove Tooling (A) from front housing (2).

Install clips (6) onto front housing (2).

Install the O-ring seals and covers (5) onto front housing (2).
Install the gasket and cover (4) onto front housing (2).

Install elbow (3) onto front cover (2).
Install the gasket and elbow (1). End By:
Install the exhaust elbow. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Exhaust Elbow - Remove and Install".
Install the auxiliary water pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Auxilary Water Pump - Install".
Install the engine oil pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Pump - Install".
Install the water pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Water Pump - Install".
Install the crankshaft front seal and the wear sleeve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankshaft Front Seal and Wear Sleeve - Install".
Install the turbocharger. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Turbocharger - Install".
Install the engine oil pan. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Pan - Install".
