OP7 is used in order to program the hours that are on the hourmeter.Note: The hours can be increased but not decreased.Note: The following procedure is applicable only to EIS engines when the GSC+ determines the value of the hourmeter on the display. The setpoint P023 is programmed to 0 or 1 and OP7 is available for programming. When setpoint P023 is programmed to 2 (EUI Engine or Gas Engine with an ECM) the value for the hourmeter on the GSC+ display is determined by the engine ECM. In this case OP7 is not available for programming.The hours of a new GSC+ can be changed in order to match the hours of the former GSC+. OP7 allows the hours on a new GSC+ to exactly match the hours of the previous GSC+. This improves the tracking of engine maintenance when the GSC+ is replaced. If the GSC+ is moved from one engine to another engine, then the number of hours on the GSC+ can be changed. This allows the number of hours on the GSC+ to match the new engine. The hours can be changed ONLY if the new hours are greater than the original hours. The hours on the GSC+ may only be increased.If the hourmeter shows all dashes, the hours can not be reprogrammed. See CID 268 if the hourmeter shows all dashes instead of a reasonable numeric value. CID 268 is within Testing And Adjusting, "Diagnostic Troubleshooting Codes".Procedure For Hourmeter Programming
A new GSC+ with 0 hours is used as an example in the following procedure. The example sets the hours to a value of 1234. If the value of the hours is increased, this procedure is valid. Note: Service Mode cannot be entered when the engine control switch (ECS) is in the AUTO position.Note: Any active shutdown fault (FLASHING shutdown indicator) must be made inactive in order to access Service Mode. To temporarily change a shutdown fault from an active shutdown fault to an inactive shutdown fault, turn the ECS to the OFF/RESETposition. In order to permanently change a shutdown fault from an active shutdown fault to an inactive shutdown fault, the shutdown fault must not be present and the ECS must be turned to the OFF/RESET position. The GSC+ will not power up in the OFF/RESET position if the jumper from terminal 6 to terminal 9 is not installed on the ECS, and any active shutdown fault must be corrected before entering service mode.
Turn the ECS to the STOP position in order to shut down the engine. Enter service mode and enter the password. "OP 4" is showing on the lower display. See System Operations, "Password Entry OP3".
