This Revised Service Letter replaces the March 7, 1999 Service Letter. Changes have been made to the Affected Product.
Problem
The cab front windshield may unlatch when it is opened and in the stored position on certain 322, 322B, 325, 325B, 330, 330B, 345B, 350, 375 and 5080 Excavators. An improved front windshield latch was effective with those machines listed in Group 2 of this service letter. Two gas springs are used to assist in opening the front windshield. If the gas springs loose tension the windshield can fall. A 1700066 Gas Spring with a locking mechanism will be added to Group 1 machines to prevent the window from falling if it unlatches. Machines with improved latches, Group 2, will be installed with higher force gas springs to improve front windshield operation.
