A 8S-9906 Ratchet Puller 1
B 4C-9485 Pin Driver Cap 1 Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses, and tubes. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.Note: Make sure that the pin bores are clean and free of dirt prior to the installation of the stick cylinder.
Use Tool (A) and two nylon lifting straps to secure the stick cylinder assembly to the lift truck.
Use the lift truck. Raise the stick cylinder (2) into position. Verify that the pin bore in the head end of the stick cylinder is in alignment with the pin bore in the boom. Note: Make sure that the threaded hole in pin assembly (9) is clean and free of dirt prior to the installation of Tool (B).
Install Tool (B) in the threaded end of pin assembly (9).
Put a thin coat of 5P-0960 Molybdenum Grease on pin assembly (9). Position the spacer in the original location on the outside of the boom pin bore.
Verify that the pin bores are aligned. Use a hammer to drive pin assembly (9) into the pin joint. Remove Tool (B) from pin assembly (9).
Temporarily install the washers and the retaining bolt for the pin assembly (10). Do not remove the lift truck from the stick cylinder at this time.

Typical Example
Replace the O-ring seals on manifold (4).
Install the manifold (4) and boom lowering control valve (7) as a unit.
Install the four bolts (5) that hold the manifold and the boom lowering control valve to the cylinder assembly.
Replace the O-ring seals in the tube assemblies.
Connect the hose assembly (6) to the stick cylinder assembly.
Connect the hose assemblies (8) to the boom lowering control valve (7).
Fill the hydraulic oil tank with oil to the correct level. Reference: Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU6941, "Lubricant Viscosities and Refill Capacities"
Start the machine. Run the machine at low idle speed.
Move the control lever for the stick cylinder so that the cylinder rod extends until the bore in the cylinder rod is aligned with the bore in the
