MOUNTING GP-MUFFLER 2315806 - Caterpillar

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Note: Oil pan gasket (34) and oil pan gasket (38) are identical.Note: Remove the five eyelets on bottom gasket (38) .
Install oil pan gasket (34), oil pan plate assembly (33), and oil pan gasket (38) to the block. Use 8T-9022 Silicone Gasket in order to install the oil pan gaskets and the oil pan plate assembly.
Install O-ring seal (41) to tube assembly (42). Install O-ring seal (39) to inlet tube assembly (37). Install inlet screen (36) in position on the tube assembly plate.Note: Before installation of the inlet tube assembly and the tube assembly lubricate the O-ring seals with the lubricant that is being sealed.
Slide inlet tube assembly (37) in position on the pump. Install the washers, bolts (40) and bolts (35) .Note: The two bolts (35) are longer than bolts (40) .
Slide tube assembly (42) in position on the pump. Install the washers and bolts (43) .

Install retaining washer (31) and bolt (32) .

Install rear oil pan (29) with the washers and bolts (28). Install gasket (30) on the rear oil pan. Use 8T-9022 Silicone Gasket in order to install the gasket.Note: After you install the center oil pan to the rear oil pan remove the excess gasket material from gasket (30) .

Install center oil pan (13) with bolts (27) .Note: Do not tighten bolts (27) at this time.
Install the washers and bolts (23) .Note: Do not tighten bolts (23) at this time.
Install block (26), the washers, bolt (25), and bolt (24). Tighten bolts (23), bolts (27), bolt (24), and bolt (25) .

Install the O-ring seal to pump suction pipe assembly (19). Slide the pump suction pipe assembly, suction bell assembly (22), and bell support (21) in position on pump (18). Install the two washers and two bolts (20) .
