Assembly Procedure
Reference: Refer to Specifications, "Steering Control Valve" in the Service Manual for your machine.
Inspect the O-ring seals for wear and for damage. Replace the components with new components, if necessary. Make sure that the components are clean. Apply clean oil to the surfaces of the components during assembly.

Install O-ring seal (37). Put spring (39) into position in valve (38) and in plug (36) .

Install plug (36) in steering control valve (1). Tighten plug (36) to a torque of 145 15 N m (105 10 lb ft).

Install the following components in the steering control valve: O-ring (28), O-ring (29), bolt (30), spool (31), plug (32), spring (33), sleeve (34), housing (26) and bolts (35). Tighten bolt (30) to a torque of 34 3 N m (25 2 lb ft). Tighten bolts (35) to a torque of 60 7 N m (44 5 lb ft).

Install O-ring seal (25) .

Install housing (23) with bolts (24). Tighten bolts (24) to a torque of 20 3 N m (15 2 lb ft).

Install the following components in plug (14) : O-ring seal (20), spring (22) and valve (21) .

Install the following components in plug (13) : O-ring seal (16), O-ring seal (17), spring (18) and valve (19) .

Install plugs (13) and (14) in the steering control valve. Tighten plug (13) to a torque of 145 15 N m (105 10 lb ft). Tighten plug (14) to a torque of 300 40 N m (220 30 lb ft).

Install bolt (12) and the seal in valve spool (10). Tighten bolt (12) to a torque of 20 3 N m (15 2 lb ft).

Install retainer (8) and spring (11). Compress spring (11) in order to install retainer (9) .
Install valve spool (10) in the steering control valve.

Install O-ring seal (6) and O-ring seal (7) .

Install O-ring seals (2) .
Install the following components in steering control valve (1) : housing (5), plate (3) and bolts (4). Tighten bolts (4) to a torque of 20 3 N m (15 2 lb ft).End By: Install the steering control valve in the control valve stack.
