The automatic lubrication system should be checked for the maintenance every 250 SMH or every 1 month.
Electric grease pump can be highly pressurized.The spout of highly pressurized grease will cause possible personnel injury.Don't loosen any joint or plug under the operation.Before disassembly or inspection, read and understand the operating manual.
Grease in the grease tank should be maintained above the MIN level. Operation with lower volume of grease could damage the front pins due to the lack of correct lubrication.Any foreign materials in the grease tank could restrict the lubrication lines or damage the valves. Prior to adding grease to the tank, be sure to wipe clean the tank fitting and grease pump nozzle.Adding grease beyond the MAX level would allow the top cover to come off during pump activation.
Please order your Caterpillar dealer for the disassembly and inspection of the electric grease pump.The grease tank is located inside the service door in the rear left side of the machine.1. Check the grease volume in the grease tank.2. When the grease volume is lower than the MIN level (B), feed the grease between the MAX level (A) and the MIN level (B). The grease tank volume is 2 litters on the MAX level.When the timer is set as "Lubrication interval 3 hours" and "Pump operating time 2 minutes" in the full volume grease condition, this system can be activated for approx. 1200 hours.
