4. Remove the six bolts that fasten elbows (2) and (3) to the front of brake and torque converter oil cooler (1). Both water line elbows go to the transmission oil cooler. 5. Remove clips (5) holding crankcase breather tube (4) to the rear of the brake and torque converter oil cooler. 6. Remove eight bolts (8), and remove elbows (6) and (7) from the brake and torque converter oil cooler. Install plugs in openings to prevent contamination from foreign material. 7. The weight of the oil cooler is 104 kg (230 lb.). Fasten a hoist to the cooler as shown. Remove six bolts (10) from oil cooler water outlet bonnet (9). 8. Remove six bolts (11) that fasten support (12) to the engine block and the oil cooler water inlet bonnet. 9. Remove three bolts (14) from flange (13). Move the brake and torque converter oil cooler to the rear far enough to remove water outlet bonnet (9) from the engine oil cooler. Lower the cooler to the floor. 10. Put alignment marks on the water bonnets at each end of the cooler for proper assembly. Remove both water bonnets from the cooler.11. Clean the tubes in the oil cooler with a 3.18 mm (.125 in.) diameter rod as shown.Install Brake And Torque Converter Oil Cooler
1. Install new gaskets between the cooler and each bonnet, and install both bonnets onto the cooler. 2. The weight of the oil cooler is 104 kg (230 lb.). Fasten a hoist to the oil cooler and lift the cooler into position on the engine.3. Install O-ring seal (2) on the bonnet. Install the six bolts that fasten oil cooler water outlet bonnet (1) to the cylinder block. Do not tighten the bolts. 4. Install a new gasket between flange (3) and the engine oil cooler water inlet bonnet. Install three bolts (4) that fasten the flange to the bonnet.5. Install support (5) on the cylinder block and the oil cooler water inlet bonnet with six bolts.6. Tighten the six bolts that fasten oil cooler water outlet bonnet (1) to the cylinder block. 7. Install the O-ring seals on elbows (6) and (7). Put the elbows into position onto the cooler, and install the eight bolts. 8. Install clip (8) holding crankcase breather tube (9) to the rear of the cooler. 9. Install a new gasket between each elbow (11) and (12) and front cooler bonnet (10). Install the six bolts that fasten both elbows to the brake and torque covnerter oil cooler.10. Fill the hoist, converter and brake hydraulic tank to the correct level. See the Maintenance Guide.11. Fill the cooling system to the correct level. See the Maintenance Guide.12. Weight of each oil pan guard is 48 kg (106 lb.).
