A 2P-8250 Strap Wrench As 1 Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the removal procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove cover assembly (1).

Close valve assembly (2).

Open drain valve (3) in order to drain filter assembly (4) into a suitable container. Use Tooling (A) in order to remove filter assembly (4).
Disconnect harness assembly (5). Disconnect hose assembly (6) and disconnect hose assembly (7). Remove bolts (8). Remove fuel priming pump (9). Installation Procedure

A 2P-8250 Strap Wrench As 1 Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the installation procedure, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Install fuel priming pump (9). Install bolts (8). Connect hose assembly (7) and connect hose assembly (6). Connect harness assembly (5).
Use Tooling (A) in order to install filter assembly (4). Close drain valve (3).
