Install Tooling (C) under the main frame at the rear of the machine, as shown. Install Tooling (E) under the main frame at the rear of the machine, as shown.
At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil is hot and under pressure. Hot oils can cause burns. To prevent possible personal injury, release the pressure in the implement hydraulic circuit (boom, stick, bucket, and swing), travel circuits, and the hydraulic oil tank at the filler cap before any hydraulic lines or components are disconnected or removed.Remove the filler cap only when the engine is stopped and the filler cap is cool enough to touch.
Release the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release".
Drain the oil from the hydraulic oil tank into a suitable container for storage or disposal. The capacity of the hydraulic oil tank is approximately 145 L (38 US gal).

Put identification marks on all tubes and hose assemblies. Remove bolts (10). Remove tube assemblies (11). Remove hose assemblies (12) and (14). Put plugs in the ends of the hose assemblies and tubes in order to prevent oil loss and keep contaminants out of the hydraulic system.
Remove tee fitting (13) and (15) from the swivel joint.
Cover the ports in the bottom of swivel joint with plastic caps in order to keep contaminants out of the swivel joint.
Remove bolts (16) from the swivel joint.

Use Tooling (A) in order to remove 34 bolts (17) that secure the upper structure to the undercarriage frame.
Install M24 guide bolts in the upper structure. Install the four guide bolts with 90 degree angles between the bolts. Install the guide bolts through the swing gear and bearing into the upper structure.

Note: It is important to keep upper structure (19) level when the upper structure is being removed from the undercarriage frame. If the upper structure is not kept level, binding of pinion shaft (20) in the swing drive with swing gear and bearing (21) will result. The clearance between the gears is minimal.Note: The weight of the upper structure and the undercarriage frame will vary depending on the attachments. The weights that are listed below are only approximations.
Carefully, raise upper structure (19) from the undercarriage frame with Tooling (B) and Tooling (C) in 6.4 mm (0.25 inch) increments. Raise the upper structure until pinion shaft (20) is clear of swing gear and bearing (21). The weight of the upper structure is approximately 20412 kg (45000 lb).
Check the clearance between the pinion shaft and the swing gear and bearing. Make sure that the components will not interfere with
