This Special Instruction provides information for installing the 218-6745 Cab Window Gp (KIT, SIDE) on the listed machines. The kit consists of the side window assemblies and the fasteners. Position window (1) inside the cab against the left side wall. See Illustration 1. Hold the window in place. Align the mounting holes in the window frame with the mounting holes in the side wall of the cab.

Outside the cab, install five screws (5) in order to secure the window in the side wall. See Illustration 3.Tighten the screws to a torque of 12 3 N m (9 2 lb ft).

Place window (4) in the position directly under window (1). See Illustration 4.Note: The top of the window must be positioned behind flange (A) on the lower frame of window (1). The alignment pin (B) must be aligned with the hole that is provided in the side wall of the cab.
Pull out the handle of latch (C) in order to disengage the latching mechanism. Use moderate force to push in the bottom of window (4). Seat the latch in the hole that is provided in the side wall of the cab. Flip the handle of latch (C) in order to engage the latching mechanism.
Repeat Step 1 through Step 4 in order to install window (2) and window (3) in the right side wall of the cab.
After installation of the side windows, check the capability of the gas spring (gas springs) to handle the additional weight of the cab windows. Change the configuration of the gas spring (gas springs), if necessary.Refer to "Application Guide for Gas Struts" in the Maintenance Section of the Operation and Maintenance Manual for your machine.Operating the Side Windows
