3. Remove the bearing cage (1) from the housing for the tandem drive.4. Remove seat plate from the right side.5. Fasten a hoist as shown.6. Remove nuts (2) that hold housing. 7. Remove housing (3) for shifter fork. Weight is 110 lb. (49.9 kg).Install Shifter Fork Housing (Direct Drive)
1. Install the housing for shifter fork. During installation of housing, engage each fork with its collar on the pinion shaft.2. Install nuts that hold the housing.3. Put a hydraulic jack under housing for tandem drive and lift the housing until the spindle and bearing are centered in housing.4. Install bearing cage on tandem drive housing.5. Install pin for the interlock linkage.6. Install seat plate.7. Put oil in transmission and bevel gear housing.end by: a) install shifting gate and housingDisassemble Shifter Fork Housing (Direct Drive)
start by: a) remove shifter fork housing 1. Remove interlock housing (2).2. Remove the interlock plungers and springs.3. Remove end cover (1) for the rails from the housing.4. Cut the lockwire and remove the bolts that hold the center shifting fork and arm. Slide the shifting fork and arm off the keys and remove keys from the rail. 5. Remove the rail (3), spacer (4), arm (5) and fork (7) from the housing (6). 6. Cut the lockwire and remove the bolts that hold the bottom shifting fork and arm. Slide the shifting fork and arm off keys (10) and remove the keys. 7. Remove the rail, fork, spacer, arm and spacer from the housing.8. Remove the bolts (8) and plate (9) from the housing.Assemble Shifter Fork Housing (Direct Drive)
1. Install plate (1) and shims (2) in the housing. Use shims (2) as needed to remove restriction between plate and the shifting arm on the center rail. 2. Slide the bottom rail in the housing through the short spacer (6), shifting arm (5), and short spacer (4) on the rail (3). Put the shifting fork on the rail with the machined flat up. The shifting fork for the bottom rail can be identified by a hole drilled in the web for the lockwire. 3. Install the keys in the rail for the fork and arm. Slide the fork and arm over the keys until the bolts can be installed. Tighten the bolts and install the lockwire.4. Slide the center rail into the housing. Put the shifting fork on the rail with the machined flat for the bolt head up. Install the shifting arm and a short spacer on the rail.5. Install the keys in the rail for the fork and arm. Slide the fork and arm over the keys until the bolts can be installed. Tighten the bolts and install the lockwire. 6. Install end cover (7).7. Install the interlock plungers and springs. Put the short plunger (8) in the center hole.8. Install interlock housing with dowel (9) in the position shown.end by: a) install shifter fork housing
