Attach a "Do Not Operate" warning tag or a similar warning tag to the start switch or to the controls before you service the equipment or before you repair the equipment. Release the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, RENR8649, "System Pressure - Release".

Install two connector assemblies (7) into port "PB4" and port "DB4" in the side of block (5). Two O-ring seals are part of each connector assembly. Refer to illustration 2.
Install two plug assemblies (9) into the opposite side of block (5). One O-ring seal is part of each plug assembly.
Install four plug assemblies (8) into the top of block (5). One O-ring seal is part of each plug assembly.

Install four plug assemblies (8) into the bottom of block (5). One O-ring seal is part of each plug assembly. Refer to illustration 3.

Mount block (5) to the bosses on the frame of the excavator. Use two washers (12) and two bolts (13). Refer to Illustration 4.

Install hose assembly (1) into port "DB4" of block (5). Refer to illustration 5.
Install hose assembly (2) into port "PB4" of block (5) .
Route both hoses through the bulkhead in front of the hydraulic tank.
Install guard (4) and guard (6) around the hoses. Fasten the guards with straps (3). Refer to illustration 5.
Remove the cap from the hydraulic tank. Install Tooling (A) onto the hydraulic tank. Attach an air supply hose onto Tooling (A). Apply 276 to 414 kPa (40 to 60 psi). This procedure will create a vacuum in the hydraulic system.

If equipped, disconnect the hydraulic hose from port "PSA2" of the pilot manifold.
Install tee assembly (10) into port "PSA2" of the pilot manifold.
Install hose assembly (2) onto tee assembly (10) .
If equipped, connect the hose that was removed to the end of tee (10) .
Install cap (11) onto the end of tee (10) if no hose was installed at port port "PSA2" of the control manifold.

Disconnect the existing hose from the tank port.
Install tee assembly (10) to the tank port. Refer to Illustration 7.
Reconnect the existing hose to the tee (10) .
Connect hose (1) to tee (10) at the tank.
Tighten all hardware to the proper torque.
Remove tooling (A) .
Check all connections for leaks.
Purge the air from the hydraulic lines of the machine. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Air Purge" for more information.
