June 2002 BRAZED END SHEET OIL COOLER APPEARANCE Announcement In its continuing efforts to provide low-cost repair options, Caterpillar? Remanufactured Products has recently changed remanufacturing processes on small Reman brazed end sheet oil coolers. Due to this process change, the appearance of these oil coolers will change. The color of the copper tube bundles and the end sheets will be gray as compared to the previous bright copper/brass color. Although, their appearance has changed, these coolers still meet the same rigorous factory specifications and provide same-as-new performance. Part numbers involved are 0R3499, 0R3500, 0R3501. These are used in 3300 series engines found in Industrial, Gen Sets and Construction equipment. Core Acceptance Core acceptance for the Caterpillar Remanufactured oil coolers, media number SELD0060, is not affected by this process change. Core Management Please refer to the Caterpillar Core Management Information System (CMIS 2) Parts Information application describing all Reman part/CAF and related information. Also refer to other CMIS 2 inquiry applications such as Customer Profiles, Inspection Reason Codes, Inspection Line Inquiry, Add Charge Information, Entitlement Activity, Entitlement Inquiry, CCR Inquiry, CCR Entry, Shipment Processing; Process Packaging Grief; and Reporting to properly manage core returns and monitor inspection performance. This information will be available to all dealers worldwide after your CMIS 2 conversion date.
