1. Remove pin (3) that holds rod (4) to the clutch lever.2. Remove pin (2). Remove lever (1) and rod (4) from the flywheel clutch.3. Remove the bolts that hold the brake drum to the flywheel clutch. Remove the brake drum.4. Remove the pin and the washer that hold the shoe assembly on the lever. Remove the shoe assembly.Install Flywheel Clutch Brake (Direct Drive)
1. Install a new shoe on the lever of the flywheel clutch brake.2. Install the brake drum on the flywheel clutch shaft.3. Put the flywheel clutch brake in position on the flywheel clutch. Make sure the pin on the shoe assembly is in the hole in the flywheel clutch housing.4. Install the pin that holds the lever in position.5. Connect the rod to the control lever.6. Make an adjustment to the rod as follows:a) Put the flywheel clutch hand lever in the most forward position.
Typical Exampleb) Loosen locknut (2). Turn rod (1) until the shoe assembly makes contact with the brake drum.c) Release the flywheel clutch hand lever and turn rod (1) two turns clockwise. Tighten locknut (2) to a torque of 18 5 lb.ft. (24 7 N m).END BY:a) install universal joint
