The 244-1636 Flywheel As went into production in 2004. This flywheel assembly provides additional clearance between the flywheel bolts and the Eaton VCTplus clutch.The 244-1636 Flywheel As replaced the 130-9476 Flywheel As. If you are installing an Eaton VCTplus clutch on one of the engines that are listed above, ensure that the clearance between the flywheel friction face and the top of the flywheel bolts is sufficient.Perform the following inspection procedure in order to ensure proper clearance.
Measure the distance from the flywheel friction face to the top of the flywheel bolts (A) .
If the measurement is 8.0 mm (0.32 inch) or more, the flywheel can be used.
If the measurement is less than 8.0 mm (0.32 inch), replace the washers (1) with the 8D-5054 Hard Washer and measure the distance again.Note: The 8D-5054 Hard Washer is 3.0 mm (0.12 inch) thick.
If the measurement is still less than 8.0 mm (0.32 inch), replace the flywheel assembly with the parts that are listed in Table 1.
