MUFFLER AS 3172731 - Caterpillar

1. Remove the hood. The weight is 60 lb. (27 kg). Remove all of the floor plates (1) from the machine.2. Disconnect governor linkage (2) at the dash. If machine is equipped with a decelerator, disconnect linkage from the decelerator to the governor linkage.3. Disconnect fuel pressure line (4) at the dash. Disconnect oil pressure line (5) at the dash. Disconnect air cleaner indicator line (3) at the turbocharger tube.4. Disconnect the wire harness to the dash at connector (6).5. Disconnect the wire from the dash to the glow plug harness at the rear of the valve cover. 6. Drain the coolant from the radiator until the coolant level is below the cylinder head. Remove water pressure line (7) at the radiator and disconnect it from the clips on the valve cover. Remove water temperature sensing unit (8) from the cylinder head and remove the clips from the engine that hold it in place. If the machine is a power shift, remove the torque converter oil temperature sensing unit from the torque converter. 7. Remove two pins (9) and disconnect the steering clutch control rods.8. Remove two pins (10) and disconnect the brake rods. 9. Fasten a hoist to dash (12) and remove six bolts (11) that hold the dash to the fenders. Remove dash (12). The weight is 250 lb. (113 kg).Install Brake Pedals And Dash
1. Fasten a hoist to the dash. Put dash (1) in position on the machine. Install six bolts (2) that hold the dash to the fenders of the machine. 2. Connect steering clutch control rods (3) and brake rods (4). 3. Install water pressure line (5) in the radiator. Install water temperature sensing unit (6) in the cylinder head. Install the clips that hold them in place. If the machine is a power shift, install the torque converter oil temperature sensing unit. 4. Connect governor linkage (7). If the machine is equipped with a decelerator, install the decelerator rod on the governor linkage.5. Connect air cleaner indicator line (8). Connect oil pressure line (10) and fuel pressure line (9).6. Connect the wire harness for the dash at connector (11). Connect the wire from the dash to the glow plug harness at the rear of the valve cover.7. Install floor plates (12).8. Install the hood.9. Fill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level.
