This Program can be administered either before or after a failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS4845" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
This Revised Service Letter replaces the May 24, 1999 Service Letter. Changes have been made to the Parts Needed and the Rework Procedure.

5130 and 5130B Front Shovel Excavators may experience failures of the Bottom Dump Bucket Cylinder. To prevent the Cylinder failure, a new Manifold Block and a Crossover Relief Valve can be installed in the lines group.

1. Disconnect (2) 162-0746 Hose Assemblies and (2) 162-0747 Hose Assemblies. Remove and save (16) 8T-4184 Bolts and (16) 8T-4223 Washers. Save (8) 6V-0400 Flanges and discard (4) 1P-3703 Seals. See Illustration 1 for location.2. Disconnect (2) 162-0717 Hose Assemblies. Remove and save (8) 8T-4194 Bolts and (8) 8T-4223 Washers. Save (4) 1P-5767 Flanges and discard (2) 1P-3704 Seals. See Illustration 1 and 2 for location.3. Remove and save (4) 8T-6385 Bolts and (4) 9X-8257 Washers. Remove (1) 108-3410 Manifold Block. See Illustration 1 for location.4. Install (1) 163-0161 Valve Group to the 168-5104 Manifold Block. Install (1) 168-5104 Manifold Block with Bolts and Washers removed in Step 3. See Illustration 3 for location.5. Connect the (2) 162-0717 Hose Assemblies with the Bolts, Washers, and Flanges removed in Step 2. Install new (2) 1P-3704 Seals. See Illustration 3 for location.6. Connect the (2) 162-0746 Hose Assemblies and (2) 162-0747 Hose Assemblies that were disconnected in Step 1. Use new (4) 1P-3703 Seals.
