Install shim (24) over shaft (23) and onto the retaining ring.

Install actuator (18) on the swashplate in the pump housing.

Install O-ring seal (12) and dowel pin (13) into the head.

Use Tooling (C) and a suitable hoist in order to install head (3) .

Make sure that the rods are correctly engaged with the swashplate. Make sure that the ports and the hole on port plate (27) are aligned with the ports and with the pin in head (3). Position head (3) to pump housing (30) .

Install four bolts (11) that secure head (3) to pump housing (30) .

Measure the distance from the top of shaft (23) to the top of shim (24). Record this dimension.
Place impeller (10) over shaft (23) and onto shim (24). Measure the distance from the top of shaft (23) to the top of impeller (10). Subtract this dimension from the first measurement.
Add the shims under the impeller in order to obtain a difference of 22.5 .01 mm (0.9 0.0004 inch). Reinstall the impeller on shaft (23) .
Add shims (9) on top of the impeller in order to fill the remaining gap between the impeller and retaining ring (8) .
Use Tooling (B) in order to install retaining ring (8) .

Install two O-ring seals (4) to flange (2) .

Install flange (2) and four bolts (1) to head (3) .End By:
Install the pressure and flow compensator valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Pressure and Flow Compensator Valve (Steering) - Remove and Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
Install the steering pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Piston Pump (Steering) - Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
