Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Clean the mating surfaces of the engine oil cooler housing and the cylinder block.

Install Tooling (A) in Hole (X) on the cylinder block.
Position engine oil cooler (1) and seals (2) on engine oil cooler housing (4).
Position gasket (3) on Tooling (A). Note: Do Not use sealants on gasket (3).
Position engine oil cooler housing (4) on the guide bolts. Install bolts (7) in order to secure the engine oil cooler housing to the cylinder block. Tighten bolts (7) finger tight.
Remove Tooling (A). Install the remaining bolts (7) and tighten all bolts (7) to a torque of 22 N m (16 lb ft). Tighten the bolts in the sequence that is shown in Illustration 2.
Install seals (5) on hose assemblies (8) and (9). Position the hose assemblies (8) and (9) on the engine oil cooler housing. Install flanges (6) and nuts (10). Tighten the nuts to a torque of 22 N m (16 lb ft).
Clean the mating surfaces of adapter (13) and the flanges of the hose assemblies (8) and (9).
Install new gaskets (12) on the flanges of the hose assemblies. Position the hose assemblies on adapter (13). Install bolts (11) and tighten to a torque of 22 N m (16 lb ft).
Fill the cooling system with coolant. Fill the lubrication system with engine oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Refill Capacities" for the cooling system capacity and the lubrication system capacity of the engine.
