Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Handle with great caution, since this is a heavy subject.Note: Ensure that no foreign matter enters in the pipe.

Put an identification mark on connectors as shown in Illustration 1 for proper reinstallation.

Loosen connector (1).

Loosen connector (2) and remove connector (1).

Remove bolts (3).

Remove bolts (4). Remove oil pump (6) and filter (5).

Attach Tooling (A) and use a suitable block to fix the mounting flange (7) not to rotate.Note: When pulling out the adapter, use the rag to collect the oil, because the oil will fall into the case.
Use Tooling (B) to remove adapter (8). Remove adapter (8).
