Information:
1. Remove the bolts that hold the rod to yoke (1).2. Fasten a hoist to idler. Push the yoke and idler away from the rod.3. Install a small hoist to make the idler hang even. Remove the idler and yoke as a unit. Weight is 750 lb. (340 kg).Install Front Idlers
1. Fasten a hoist and put the idler (1) and yoke in position on roller frame.2. Push the idler in until the rod is in the yoke.3. Install bolts that hold the rod in yoke. Tighten bolts to a torque of 45 5 lb.ft. (6.2 0.7 mkg).Disassemble Front Idlers
start by: a) remove fron idlers1. Remove the bolts from yoke and remove yoke from the idler. Weight of yoke is 100 lb. (45 kg).2. Remove bolt, lockwasher and washer from the lock. 3. Install a 7/16"-14 NC bolt (1) 8 in. long in the lock. Hit the bolt with a hammer and remove the lock from the bearing. 4. Remove bearing from the shaft with tooling (A).5. Fasten a hoist and remove housing (2). Weight of bearing is 130 lb. (59 kg).6. Remove the Duo-Cone seal from the bearing and bushing. Put identification on the seals to prevent mixing at assembly. 7. Remove bolts (5) that hold the bushing to the idler.8. Turn the idler over. Do Steps 2 through 6 to the opposite side of the idler.9. Remove the bushings and shaft (3) from the idler with a press. Remove the O-ring seals (4) from shaft. See Idler Group in Specifications. 10. Remove bushings (6) from bushing (8) with a press.11. Cut pins (7) off even with the face of the bushings. Make the surface of the bushings smooth with a file.Assemble Front Idlers
1. Put the oil holes in the bushings in alignment. Install bushing (1) in bushing (3) with a press. Drill two holes .281 in. (7.14 mm) in diameter, 180° apart and .82 in. (20.8 mm) deep through bushing (1) and into bushing (3). Do not drill the holes through the lubrication grooves in bushing (1). Make the two holes larger with a reamer. The holes must be .3052 .0003 in. (7.752 0.008 mm) in diameter and .75 in. (19.05 mm) deep. Make the holes larger again to a diameter of .308 .001 in. (7.82 0.03 mm) and .25 in. (6.4 mm) deep. Install two new pins (2) which are .306 to .307 in. (7.77 to 7.80 mm) in diameter to a depth of .030 in. (0.76 mm) below the outside surface of bushing (1).2. Inspect the O-ring seals on the bushings. Install new seals as needed. Put oil on the seals and contact surfaces of the bushings and idler.
TYPICAL EXAMPLE3. Install one of the bushings in the idler with tooling (A) and a press. Install the bolts in the bushing. 4. Turn the idler over on its opposite side. Install shaft (4) in the bushing. Install the other bushing with tooling (A) and a press. Install the bolts in
