On engines equipped with scroll-type fuel pumps it is possible for the governor housing to be used again if only the spring guides are worn and the rest of the housing is still in good condition. The installatin of a new spring guide instead of a complete new governor housing can result in a cost reduction for the customer.
The 6V22 Governor Spring Guide Tool Group is now available to use for installation of new spring guides (see Illustration). The spring guides are available for parts service. The chart that follows shows which spring guide is used with which governor housing assembly:
