Locations for measuring the "Side to Side Level" and the "Front to Back Level"
Measure the "Side to Side Level" and the "Front to Back Level".Use an angle finder placed at the base of the propel collector rings as shown in Illustration 62.

Interior of "JB29" Inclinometer Junction Box
Have a qualified electrician open the JB29 junction box to gain access to the inclinometers and loosen the top and bottom screws of each. There is a slot that the bottom screw rides in that allows the bottom of the inclinometer to move left to right.

"Monitoring - Inclination" screen
From the Rocky software that is running on the PLC, open the "Monitoring - Inclination" screen.

Inclinometers in "JB29" Inclinometer Junction Box
While monitoring the screen, have the electrician move each of the inclinometers left to right until the readings equal the measurements taken in Step 2.SSLS - Used to adjust the "Side to Side Level"FRLS - Used to adjust the "Front to Back Level"
Have the electrician tighten all screws and then verify that the measurements are still correct.
Have the electrician close "JB29" and replace the manhole cover to the revolving frame.Adjusting the MTAlpha Offset
One of the goals of the Cat ERS calibration process is to accurately zero the cable encoder. If the user does not zero the cable encoder carefully, the MTAlpha and Minimum MTC values are less accurate, causing Terrain to calculate a less accurate bucket tip position. One method for adjusting the MTAlpha value is to use the MTAlpha Offset in the MCU. Create an offset to account for any difference between the measured MTAlpha angle and the MTAlpha angle value that is supplied by the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC).Example: 5The MTAlpha offset is 5 degrees. Enter "Machine" > "Machine Dimensions" > "MTAlpha Offset" = "5". In this example, the 5 degree offset corrects a persistent inconsistency in the MTAlpha angle that is supplied by the PLC.To increase the accuracy of the dipper position, complete the following:
Complete the Cat ERS calibration process as accurately as possible.
Repeat the calibration after a cable change.
Repeat the calibration after changing a cable and using for 24 hours.
Repeat the calibration as the cable approaches the end of life of the cable.Reference: Testing and Adjusting, M0069230, "7495, 7495 HF, and 7495 HD Electric Rope Shovel", Rope Crowd - CalibrationMachine Measurements
Record the following measurements for entry into the MCU:
Pitch brace length
Bucket tip positionPitch Brace Length
The length of the pitch brace is used to adjust the dipper angle relative to the centerline of the crowd system.

Adjusting the Pitch Brace Length
Plates are added or removed (40) as shown in Illustration 66 to adjust the length of the pitch brace (39), which in turn adjusts the raked angle.Bucket Tip Position

When the system is installed and working, verify that the system is receiving the correct position at the midpoint of the bucket cutting edge. In Terrain, this position is also called the "blade position", and
