Dozer Blade Tilt (If Equipped)
1. Pull the tilt lever toward the operator to lower the left side of the blade.2. Push the tilt lever away from the operator to lower the right side of the blade. 3. If additional tilt is required, the left brace may be adjusted. Shorten the brace to make left side of blade lower. Lengthen the brace to make the left side of blade higher.If the tilt brace length needs alteration, turn the handle to the left (counterclockwise), to lengthen it. Turn the handle to the right (clockwise), to shorten the brace.Dozer Blade Tip (If Equipped)
Lengthen the left brace and extend the right cylinder to tip the blade forward. Shorten the left brace and retract the right cylinder to tip the blade back.Normal neutral position is 861 mm (34 in) from ball center to pin center.Fully tipped forward the dimension from ball center to pin center is 907 mm (35.75 in).Fully tipped back the dimension from ball center to pin center is 811 mm (32 in).Ripper Tips
Replace ripper tips before wear occurs on the shank. Follow the procedures given in the topic Ripper Tips under When Required in the Maintenance Section of this manual for replacement.Dozer Blade Angling
The blade can be positioned to various angles with the following instructions.1. Remove the lock pin from the retainer pin. (One on each side.)2. Remove the coupling retainer pins.3. Pull the coupling pin out of the housing.4. Position the blade at the desired angle.5. Install the coupling pins in the new positions.6. Install the coupling retainer pins.7. Install the lock pins.Tracks
If tracks are too tight or loose, wear of components is accelerated. If they appear too tight or too loose, adjust the track. Follow the procedures given in the topic Tracks under Every 250 Services Hours or Monthly in the Maintenance Section of this manual for adjustment.
Cutting Edges and End Bits
Replace or reverse the cutting edges or end bits, before wear occurs on the blade base. Follow the procedures given in the topic Cutting Edges and End Bits under When Required in the Maintenance Section of this manual for replacement.Brake Pedal Position
The brake pedal can be installed on the shaft in a HIGH or LOW position. The pedal is usually installed in the LOW position.The brake pedal can easily be changed from one position to the other and without affecting the linkage adjustments. The above illustration shows the HIGH and LOW positions. Each dimension is measured from the bottom edge of the pedal to the floor plate. The pedal is in the HIGH position when the timing mark on the end of the pedal shaft is in alignment with the center of the slot in the pedal. The pedal is in the LOW position when the bottom of the pedal is rotated down one spline from the timing mark.Winch Adjustment ("Inch" or "No-Inch")
The winch has an adjustable sequence valve, which permits the selection of either "no-inch" or "inching" characteristics, during reel out operations.Inching is the controlled movement
