10. Inspect the Rollover Protective Structure (ROPS) for cracks in welds, castings or any metal section on the ROPS. Check mounting bolts and mounting pads for damage. Contact your Caterpillar dealer for necessary repairs.11. Inspect indicators and gauges for damage. Repair indicators and gauges that do not function properly. 12. Inspect cooling system for leaks, worn hoses and trash buildup. Repair any leaks, replace damaged hoses and remove trash build-up.Radiator
Check Coolant Level
The radiator cap is located on the right side platform. Access to the cap can be made through the hole in the hood.If it is necessary to add make-up coolant daily, inspect for leaks.1. Remove the radiator cap slowly to relieve pressure. Maintain the coolant level above the level indicator plate in the bottom of the fill pipe.2. Clean and inspect the cap. If the seals are damaged, disassemble the cap and replace the seal.3. Assemble and install the cap.4. Inspect the radiator core for debris and clean if necessary.Compressed air is preferred, but high pressure water or steam can be used to remove dust, leaves and general debris from a radiator. Clean as required by condition of radiator.Air Reservoirs
Drain Moisture and Sediment
Drain the moisture and sediment from the engine governor control reservoir (1) parking/secondary reservoirs (2), and the service brake and retarder reservoirs (3). To drain reservoirs, open drain valves by lifting levers. Allow moisture and sediment to drain. Close valves by returning levers to the down position.To Drain the tanks mounted on top of the hydraulic tank, open the drain valve located on the end of the tank, towards the rear wheels.Wet Tank If Equipped
Drain the moisture and sediment from the wet tank air reservoir. Do not turn the drain valve plug more than one full turn.Fuel Tank

Open the fuel tank drain valve and allow the moisture and sediment to drain. Close the drain valve.Brakes, Indicators and Gauges
Test for Proper Function
Look for broken gauge lenses or indicator lights, switches, etc.Start the engine.Look for inoperative gauges. Turn all machine lights on. Check for proper operation. Move the machine forward and test the service brakes. If service brakes do not function properly refer to topic "Brakes" in "Every 250 Service Hours or Monthly" section of this manual. Move the machine forward and test the secondary brake. If the secondary brakes do not function properly refer to topic "Brakes" in "Every 250 Service Hours or Monthly" section of this manual.Stop the engine.Make any needed repairs before operating.Seat Belt
