Make sure the machine is on level ground. Stop the engine, and move the control lever to make sure the weight of the bulldozer blade is on the ground. Move the control lever backward and forward to release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Slowly loosen the cap to release any pressure in the hydraulic tank. Let the hydraulic oil become cool before any lines are disconnected in the hydraulic system.
1. Fasten a hoist to lift cylinder (6) as shown.2. Remove four nuts and bolts (5), the shims and the cap from the rod assembly.3. Start the machine, and retract the cylinder enough to clear the bulldozer blade.4. Remove the bolt and brackets (2) that hold hose assembly (3) in position.5. Disconnect hose assemblies (1) and (3) from the lift cylinder.6. Remove the bolt and retainer that hold pin (4) in place. Remove pin (4), the spacers and lift cylinder (6). The weight of the lift cylinder is 65 kg (143 lb.). The following steps are for installation of the lift cylinders.7. Fasten a hoist to lift cylinder (6). Put the lift cylinder in position in the support assembly with the two spacers, and install pin (4).8. Install the retainer and bolt that hold pin (4) in place.9. Connect hose assemblies (1) and (3) to the lift cylinder.10. Install brackets (2) to hold hose assembly (3) in position on the lift cylinder.11. Start the machine, and extend the cylinder until the rod assembly makes contact with the trunnion ball on the bulldozer blade. Install an equal amount of shims on each side of the cap to obtain 0.3 to 0.8 mm (.01 to .03 in.) clearance between the cap and the bulldozer trunnion ball.12. Put the cap and shims in position on the rod assembly, and install bolts (5) and the nuts.
