Use a suitable lifting device to remove sun gear (1). The weight of sun gear (1) is approximately 48 kg (105 lb).

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device onto planetary carrier (2). The weight of planetary carrier (2) is approximately 515 kg (1135 lb).
Remove bolts (3). Remove planetary carrier (2) and the O-ring seal from the rear wheel.

Use Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to remove planetary carrier assembly (4) and sun gear (5) from the rear wheel. The weight of planetary carrier assembly (4) is approximately 255 kg (566 lb).

Remove sun gear (5).

Remove thrust washer (6). If necessary, remove the four dowels from the inner carrier assembly.

Remove bearing (7).

Position Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device onto ring gear (8) and ring gear (9). The weight of ring gear (8) and ring gear (9), as a unit, is approximately 314 kg (692 lb).
Remove bolts (10) and retainer (11). Repeat this step for the remaining retainers.
Remove ring gear (8) and ring gear (9) from the rear wheel.

Position ring gear (8) and ring gear (9) onto the ground. Use a suitable flat bar and a suitable lifting device to support ring gear (8).
Remove retaining ring (12).
Use the suitable flat bar and the suitable lifting device to separate ring gear (8) from ring gear (9). The weight of ring gear (8) is approximately 174 kg (384 lb). The weight of ring gear (9) is approximately 140 kg (309 lb).Installation Procedure
Install planetary carrier (4) and planetary carrier (2) in the reverse order of removal.
Apply Tooling (C) onto bolts (10).
Apply Tooling (D) onto thrust washer (6).
