start by:a) remove front drive shaftb) remove fuel tank *c) remove drive axles (front)*This operation location is in the ENGINE DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY section. 1. Drain the oil from the axle housing. Disconnect two tube assemblies (2) from block. Disconnect tube (1) at both ends and move it away from differential. Remove bolts (3), then remove block assembly (4) from differential housing. 2. Remove two bolts 180° apart and install two 3/4"-10 NC guide bolts (5). Install two 3/4"-10 NC forcing screws (6). Loosen bolts about 3/4" (19.05 mm). Use the forcing screws to push differential and bevel gear out approximately 3/4" (19.05 mm). Install tooling (A) on the differential case. 3. Fasten chains and a hoist to tooling (A). Remove remainder of the bolts, then remove differential and bevel gear (7). Weight of the unit is 770 lb. (352 kg).Install Front Differential And Bevel Gear
1. Install tooling (A) on the differential case. Fasten chains and a hoist to tooling (A). Put differential and bevel gear (1) in position on the axle housing. Install the bolts that hold the unit to the axle housing. 2. Install block assembly (3) with the two bolts (2) that hold it. 3. Connect tube (5) to top of block assembly. Connect tubes (4) to sides of block assembly.4.
